September Stork Stack: Smarty Pants

Stork Stack is $27.99 a month.  The theme for this month was “Smarty Pants”. My box is for a 18 month old boy. Stork Stack changed how they do their information cards.  They attach them to their shipping notifications.  I miss the nice, pretty information cards that were once in the box.
The Details:
Ages: 0-3
Cost: $27.99 save $10.00 when you use the code  EA4827B9 at check out.
When am I billed?  The 15th of the month
When does the box ship?  1st of the month
How do I cancel?  Right from the website
Referral program?  Yes, earn $10.00 for every person that signs up with your referral code.
Tic Tac Toe – www.tictactoesocks.com Retail Value $1.83
The socks are cute and glow in the dark.  They are for 2-4 years and my son is only 18 months old.  This are quite large and he won't be able to wear them for awhile.  I think this single pair was packaged for Stork Stack.  Tic Tac Toe sell socks for $5.50 for 3 pairs.
Early Lingo – www.earlylingo.com Retail Value $20.00
This is a French DVD Opposites at the Beach part 3 of 12.  I don't think a DVD is appropriate for a 18 month old's box.  I will not be using this for my 18 month old.
Workman Publishing: “Mini Wheels Books: The Ice Cream Truck” By Peter Lippman – www.workman.com $9.00 (on Amazon)
This book is cute but it doesn't seem durable for play by a 18 month old.  The spine is a sticker.  The truck plays Twinkle Twinkle.  Update:  I went to read this book to my son at bedtime, and the clasp broke.  I contacted Stork Stack and they are sending me a new book.  I am pleased with the quick customer service.

Sneakz Organic: Chocolate Milkshake – www.sneakz.com  Retail Value $2.08 (On Amazon)
My 18 month old eats many different foods and is not picky in the slightest bit.  My oldest tried one of these from a previous box and hated them.  I will be trading this.
Food Should Taste Good: Multigrain Tortilla Chip- www.foodshouldtastegood.com
I guess this was the mom gift.  These are multigrain chips.  They were not very tasty and left a weird bitter after taste.

Final Thought:  I am not happy with this month's Stork Stack.  This is the worst month I have had, maybe the worst box I have ever received.  I liked the book but was disappointed it broke when I went to read it at bedtime.  I am happy customer service responded promptly and is sending a new book.  I hate they sent a DVD for a 18 month old.  I would much rather have a book or cd on how to teach your baby Spanish.  I don't think French is as useful as Spanish.  As a side note, I took French in high school and college.  I love the language but it's just not as useful as Spanish where I live.  I also hate the Sneakz.  I have received these in another box.  I have given my 4 year old one (he drinks pediasure) and my son hated it.  It was surprising because my 4 year old eats all kinds of foods, salads, veggies, fruits, you name it.  I refuse to give it to my 18 month old.  I don't need to sneak food into him because he has a large healthy appetite.  I really hope Stork Stack improves next month.  If you are interested in signing up for Stork Stack, click HERE and enter code EA4827B9 at check out.  You will save $10.00 on your first box.

September Julep Maven: Cityscapes

This month's theme for September's Julep Maven was Cityscape.  The theme was centered around the city lights.  I almost skipped this month.  I have many nail polishes and I didn't like all of them.  I really loved the purple color in Classic with a Twist and Karmen (an add on polish).  I decided to go ahead and get this month's box.  I was also really curious about the cleansing oil.  If you are new to my Julep Maven reviews, Julep Maven is $19.99 a month with free shipping.

My Sensory Box Review

My Sensory Box is an exciting new subscription box for kids.  This is not your ordinary subscription box for kids.  As a mom of a toddler and a preschooler, it is important, for me to give my children the tools to grow into big thinkers.  I try to avoid toys with lots of bells and whistles and prefer my children to use their imaginations.  I was thrilled to be able to review My Sensory Box.  Sensory Boxes are a great way to help your child develop their cognitive, social, emotional, physical, creative and speech skills.  Sensory boxes are a great way to help your child's self esteem.  There are no rules, no instructions with My Sensory Box.  All your child needs is his/her imagination.

Try The World Review and 6 Month Giveaway

Congrats Alisa N for winning the 6 month Giveaway!
Try the World is a brand new subscription box that sends gourmet food and art from around the world.  I was really excited about this box, as their first stop was Paris.  I am in love with Paris, but I haven't been lucky enough to go yet.  Try the World agreed to send me a mini Paris box to review.  Try the World made a mini Paris box for me to review (the regular subscription boxes are much larger).

Thera Pearl Knee Wrap Review

This is not a subscription box review, but I thought this might be of interest for my fellow Stridebox subscribers.  I reviewed the Thera Pearl Knee Wrap with Strap.  It is perfect for sprains, swelling, pre/post workout, arthritis and more.  I have had this for a couple of weeks, but really wanted to test out out.

The Thera Pearl Knee Wrap can be used cold (Frozen) or hot,  It has innovative pearl technology.  This means the knee wrap remains flexible and not a hard block of ice.  It also doesn't drip everywhere.

For Cold Therapy: Freeze for at least 2 hours
For Warm Therapy: Heat in the Microwave (700 watts-80 secs, 1000 watts-65 sec, 1250 Watts-90 secs)

The knee wrap-frozen

The Tests: C tried out the knee wrap one day when his knee was hurting.  He thought it was easy to use and liked that it didn't drip everywhere.  It stayed frozen for over 20 mins.

Frozen Knee Wrap
Thera Pearl Wrap-Warm

I tried out the knee wrap warm after a long day.  I loved how well he held in heat.  I have a heating pad, but it is difficult to wrap around my knee.  The adjustable strap worked great.  C and I have very different size legs, and we were both able to use this product.

Thera Pearl Knee Wrap Warm
Final Thought: I really liked this product.  It is easy to use, doesn't drip and is adjustable for all leg/knee sizes.  It was also able to hold in heat for a long time.  I liked how my husband and I could both use this product.  This is helpful for so many aches and pains.  I really like the adjustable strap.  You could put this on and wear it around the house, during a workout etc.  You could put in on other body parts too.  Thera Pearl also makes various other products/sizes.  If you are interested in getting a Thera Pearl product, go to http://www.therapearl.com/

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
